Janhvi Kapoor is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi cinema, alongside recent ventures into Telugu films. Born on March 6, 1997, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she hails from a prominent film family; she is the daughter of the late legendary actress Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor, and the half-sister of actor Arjun Kapoor. She completed her schooling at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai. Choosing to pursue a career in acting, she subsequently completed an intensive acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in California before making her screen debut. Kapoor made her highly anticipated acting debut portraying Parthavi Singh in Shashank Khaitan's romantic tragedy *Dhadak* (2018) opposite Ishaan Khatter, which emerged as a commercial success and won her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.
